FAQ
- Which trade workflows consume AI credits?
- Product records, trade profiles, saved decisions, compliance cases, portfolio search, and normal portal navigation do not consume AI credits or API units. AI-assisted product intake uses cost-reconciled AI credits and cloud pages when managed document parsing runs. Trade Copilot and AI Trade Impact use weighted API units plus AI credits. Scheduled scouting uses monitoring credits. All four meters remain separate in Usage & Quotas.
- What is a 'weighted API unit'?
- Every API belongs to a published weight category. A successful lightweight reference call uses 0.1 unit, while standard, medium, heavy, and AI calls use progressively more. Failed responses release the reservation and do not consume units.
- Why is the Developer plan only 2,500 units?
- The Developer plan is designed for evaluation, prototyping, and SDK adoption. Paid plans add production capacity, monitoring, retention, and team controls.
- What happens if I exceed my plan quota?
- API-unit and AI-credit packs are one-time prepaid capacity valid for 90 days and never auto-renew. Extra user seats are separate recurring additions: the checkout shows the current-term prorated charge and the next renewal amount before payment. Requests are rate-limited (429) when available capacity is exhausted.
- How do rate limits work?
- Per API key, per endpoint category. A Starter customer can burst 20 lightweight req/s and 10 standard req/s simultaneously without contending for the same bucket. 429 responses include Retry-After.
- What's the difference between Basic / Advanced / Deep AI Trade Impact?
- Basic provides a cited single-market assessment (5 AI credits). Advanced adds broader multi-source reasoning and watchlist overlays (10). Deep adds multi-country disruption analysis and executive synthesis (50). Each successful call also uses the published AI endpoint weight, and insufficient-evidence outcomes are not charged AI credits.
- Is billing prepaid?
- Yes. Paid plans are prepaid and recurring renewal is used only with an active mandate. Cancellation, failed-payment recovery, refund exceptions, and statutory remedies are explained in our billing policies.
